The English Festival of Kawachinagano
The 4th Annual English Festival of Kawachinagano was held on November 18th at City Hall. The Festival is jointly sponsored and supported by the City of Kawachinagano and Kawachinagano High School. The Festival gives students in the city the opportunity to present their English language skills on a stage in front of an audience.
The students not only made speeches or performed skits but also, many of them took part in organizing the event. Students greeted guests as they arrived for the event, some emceed the presentation, and many of them helped put the venue back in order after the event. The Kawachinagano International Friendship Association (KIFA) also supported the Festival as one of its activities to commemorate the 15th anniversary of its foundation.
Two new awards, the Carmel Mayor’s Award and the KIFA Chairman’s Award, were added this year. The Carmel Mayor’s Award went to Mikanodai Elementary School for their outstanding performances of their short skits, “Take Me Out” and “Go Go Girls”.
